I didn’t do it.
Someone typed in grampa porn and found my site.
I don’t want to know what they were really looking for!
I think I found a place to have our wedding. I only say think because I read the reviews of the location and there are more negatives than positives and that makes me a little hesitant. If you’re curious, the potential site is The Comus Inn. Greg and I were looking at the information and talking about the location through out the day; the prices are great, the location is a little farther than we’d like but the scenery is worth the drive; and it ‘fits’ with what we want. I’m just nervous about paying out all this money and not getting my value in return. I’ve placed a request to see if they host wedding ‘samples’ events so Greg and I can make a visit in the near future.
Also, I’ve been thinking more about having the wedding at my Mom’s; there’s plenty of land and we could have the ceremony on the water with the sun setting in the background (as Greg would like) and I know my Mom would totally love to have the party there. My only concern is the distance; she is so far away from civilization and I’m not exaggerating (not by much). Go ahead and google the zip code, 20662, and see where it is on the map… I’ll wait….
find it, yet? she’s waayy down there in MD!
No matter where we come from (unless you’re in Waldorf or La Plata), expect to be in the car for over an hour. I’m going to have to tell the out of state guests to fly into Regan National instead of BWI to, hopefully, save some time on the commute. But, people are still going to have to do a lot of useless driving from the hotel to my moms and then back to the hotel! I, for one, hate duplicating my efforts even if it’s driving.
then again, I have a lot of time to plan this out (as long as we’re still on for the Sept 09 wedding) so I shouldn’t feel as stressed as I currently do, right?
I’ve also toyed with the idea of finding some place in DC for the wedding. DC is different and I feel the out of state guests will get the opportunity to do a little site seeing while they’re in town (and not to feel that they are wasting their money for a weekend wedding – but that’s just me thinking that) and my only concern about DC is that the driving is horrible; you’re literally in a maze. I hate driving in DC and that’s why I haven’t been in ages (aside from when Greg and I went to the National Zoo in Aug 06 and even then Greg drove, and when I would visit my aunt in the hospital before she died). Thinking out loud here, but I wonder if we could have an impromptu ceremony at the mall in DC and then hold the reception somewhere else… I wonder what the rules, if any, are about that…. guess I could contact the visitors bureau…
I’m too mentally exhausted to think about this anymore.
