Giving it a whirl

I’ve decided to participate in the NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) and the rule is simple: Post a blog everyday for the month of November.

Yea yeah… I’ve already failed… I didn’t post anything yesterday. Although, if I was tricky, I could have this post post under yesterday’s date. But, I’m too honest to do that…

In the work front all seems to be going well. I am still working in correspondence and … so far so good. I am enjoying the break from the normal duties.

I should be receiving a picture of my bouquet soon. My ‘florist’ did notify me that the mini-photo frame with a picture of Amelia has arrived!

Greg and I were talking last night about our lay-over in Atlanta, Ga; it’s about 3 hours long! So, we were talking about possibly visiting the aquarium while in Atlanta, but decided against it because we don’t want to risk missing our flight. On the plus side, we did learn that our favorite restaurant, Houlihan’s, has a spot in the airport! Actually, they have 2 restaurants in the airport. And, the kicker (for Greg) is one of the restaurants is located in the Hartsfield Atrium, which we think *Greg hasn’t confirmed this* over looks the runways. Learning this, our favorite restaurant in Greg’s favorite place to be (in a busy airport), has weakened Greg’s self proclaimed “containing my excitement levels” strength; he says his strength level is DOWN to a 4.5 out of 10!! OMG, we’re getting so freaking excited about this cruise; words can not begin to describe my excitement.

The daylight time change effected us in a weird way, yesterday. Greg and I had more energy in the morning to do some heavy duty cleaning – like sitting on the kitchen floor with the vacuum hose sucking up anything within reach in-between the stove and cabinets. And, that’s what I did. Greg did the living/dining room (as usual).

Amelia didn’t take a nap – at all – yesterday and she was in a pretty good mood the whole day.

well, it’s now about 11pm (which, this time last week would be 12am) so I am heading off to bed.

Happy Valentine’s Day

Wishing all my readers (even the lurkers) a Happy Valentine’s Day.

Greg and I don’t have any plans to celebrate (I’ve never been much of a Valentine fan), but we did exchange cards this morning and tonight we’re going to drink some champagne (we never drank the bottle we bought to celebrate our anniversary with) as we dine on spaghetti and meatballs tonight. Oh so romantic, no?

Oh, and Greg sent this wonderfully written love letter this afternoon:

My special Valentine,

Happiest of happy wishes on this day of Love.  I know I have told you a thousand times how much Love I have for thee, but thusly I would tell you a million more.  Mere words cannot hope to explain my love and devotion to you.  Nay be stars in the sky, or sand on thine beach, or bubbles in thine bath that equil the love I have you thou.  I would fight an Army just to protect you, Journey to the ends of the earth, even swing across a pit of alligators on a very pixelated vine for you my love.  My only wish and dream apon thine earth is to kiss thou’s wonderious lips just once more.  Till we meet agains my dearest love.  My heart is yours.

With all my Love,

Sir Greggy

Yes, that is the actual email – no editing on my end. The love of my life has such a way with words…

Greg was rather surprised that I got the reference to Pitfall!; guess that just shows how much we were made for each other.

Sadly, that was the only highlight for the day. My work day sucked moldy, hairy, monkey… tails. I was so tempted to just leave. And, I know tomorrow is going to much worse since there will be ever fewer people! Blah! I don’t even want to think about it.

Once work was finallyover, Greg and I met at the grocery store and did some minor shopping (just enough to get us through the weekend) and decided to head next door to the chinese buffet for dinner (we were both too hungry and too lazy to cook dinner). I was expecting the restaurant to be empty, as was Greg, but we were both wrong! There was a waiting period to be seated! I’ve never seen this place, or any other chinese buffet, so packed! It was nuts. But we ate there anyway. Dinner was yummy and Amelia … well… she’s into the phase of taking a bite of something and then throwing it across the room; or she’ll hand it to me – fresh from her mouth. What a delightful daughter I have.

Anyways, I hope everyone had a great night.

Spreading Like Wildfire!

Word is traveling fast about my engagement to Greg. I’ve received a ton of emails, Myspace Comments, and text messages from all my friends and family!! Everyone is so freaking happy!

One of my best-est friends, Daniel, sent me the following text last night (it’s in three photos to show the whole text message):

Oh, Daniel is so funny! And, he’s been saying since Greg and I met that he (Greg) is the one for me. I didn’t listen to him because Greg and I were up front with what we were looking for when we met (just friends, no relationship)… and, well… the rest is history!!

Michele and I were text messaging last night I told her to get ready to be a bridesmaid! I already know who is going to be my maid of honor (cousin April) and my two bridesmaids, Kara and Michele. Greg is going to have his two brothers and my brother in his party. And, of course Amelia and Olivia are going to be our flower girls!!

And, this afternoon, my girlfriend Kara called and we chatted for like 45 minutes on the phone catching up and talking like school girls about my engagement and wedding plans (what little Greg and I have talked thus far). I told her the time frame and our ideas (huge bonfire) and she was getting ideas and everything. Oh, I’ve missed Kara so much (and she misses me too). We were talking about or divorces and her ex is being worse than mine (Kara and I were married on the same day, just three years apart) and she filed for divorce about a year after Adam and me.

This is so exciting; thinking about the wedding Greg and I are going to plan; the excitment of getting so much attention from everyone (even strangers when they see the ring sparkeling in the light), and just everything!!

I am so freaking happy right now; happier than I’ve ever imagined feeling.

Can I Get A Witness??

My divorce hearing is scheduled for DECEMBER 31, 2007!!!!

My divorce will be final 30 days after the hearing.

I will be divorced before I am 29.

I am so freaking excited!!!!!

As I was scheduling the hearing, I was informed that I would need a witness with me, someone who has been or known Adam and I before or during our marriage, or someone who has known me since being separated. I thought about Greg but I don’t know. So, I called my Mom and she said she would come up for the hearing, after all (and I quote her words exactly) “I was there when you got married, I might as well be there when you get your divorce.”
