Saturday Night

Greg and I really had no motivation to get going this morning. But, eventually we did get moving and just as we were about to head out to run a few errands before we head down to Nanjemoy, Amelia decides to take a nap. So, Greg loads up the car and goes out to run the errands and I stay with Amelia and finish up the packing and start on some cleaning.

Oh. I forgot to mention that Greg and I stayed up until 1am working on the photo book for his grandparents. We didn’t mail it, yet and we meant to bring it down with us to my Mom’s but we forgot. I plan on taking pictures of it when we get home.

The drive down was uneventful. There was a little traffic on 301 but not a lot, surprisingly. We stopped at Target in La Plata, MD and bought some last minute things as well as some items that my Mom needed for our Christmas dinner. We spent over $100 at Target! But, we also bought baby things that Amelia will need in the next few days (diapers, etc). So, the means were justified.

We made it to my Mom’s around5-5:30pm. When Mom saw how much stuff Greg and I stuffed into the truck she asked “What, are you guys moving in?” (which she would love for us to do), Greg and I just laughed. Once the car was unloaded, we sat around and chatted. Van and Greg talked about history things, Amelia crawled all over us and the dogs and Mom and I chatted in the kitchen or chased Amelia around. Oh, and as soon as we came into the house and Amelia saw Max and Scooter she said, loud and clear, “Dog!” Mom was so surprised (as was I since we don’t say dog at home)! She was like “Van! Van! Mealie just said the word DOG!!” and all excited and stuff. It was cute.

After a while Mom asked Greg and me if Amelia could open one of her gifts and we said yes, so I took a few pictures and a video of Amelia opening her first Christmas gift. Amelia did pretty good with the tearing of the paper. I can’t wait until tomorrow when we can all open the presents and she can imitate us.

About and hour later Amelia was asleep, probably around 7:30pm. So, Greg had a few presents to wrap that were for me and Mom and I decided to take a walk in the woods at night. I brought my camera just for fun. Some pictures turned out neat and others were blurry. I can’t wait until Greg gets his Canon 40-D (goal is for Feb or March). The pictures that we’re going to take are going to look so amazing!

Anyway, around 8pm Mom and I decide to take a walk down to the water; Mom wanted to see if we could see the spider eyes in the halogen again (a few months ago, Mom was walking in the woods at night and saw the ground was sparkely and she thought there was glass all over the place, until she bent down and saw that it was spiders looking up at her and there were hundres of them all over the place – she couldn’t decided if she was freaked out or curious), so I decided to check it out my self. We didn’t really see many, but seeing more than one was enough to give me the creeps. So, we vengured on and I was taking pictures here and there. Night time shots are a little challeging (for the camera); if the camera has nothing to focus on then it’s a 50/50 on how the pictures will turn out – most of mine came out a little blurry, but not too bad. Mom and I walked in the woods for about 45 minutes.

When we returned, Mom went to bed, I finished wrapping up the presents and then Greg and I watched a little TV (well, he watched as I wrote this). And before we knew it, it was 11pm and we were both exhausted.

Saturday just felt weird to us; like the time was dragging or something.

One of those days…

It was slow yet busy at work. My focus on anything was very short and not really there.

I just had no motivation to do anything today. And the fact that time seemed to slow down to a crawl.

And, what’s worse is that I really have nothing to write about. Oh, and that Ugly Betty isn’t on TV tonight, boo. So, Greg and I are watching Blazing Saddles instead.

Christmas Plans:

This weekend Greg and I are going to head down to my Mom’s on Saturday to spend the weekend with her, meaning we’re going to stay the night.

I don’t know about anyone else, but it doesn’t seem like Christmas. Even though there are 5 more days to go, it just seems different. I am hoping that going to my Mom wills kick in the Christmas Spirit within. Also, I am thinking that next year will be more exciting and fun as Amelia will almost be 2.

Although, my Christmas Spirits were brought up tonight when I got home because there were like 5 Christmas Cards in the mail for Greg, Amelia, and me; including one from Greg’s grandparents! I ahve to say that I love old peoples handwriting! I should take a picture of the handwriting of Greg’s grandma. Also, she addressed that card as “Mr and Mrs Gregory S********” is that sign?

Random Items:

At the moment, my girlfriend, Michele, and I are text messaging each other. She’s telling me that she’s going to drop Bob because he’s telling her what she can and can’t do; that’s a big strike, and it only takes one strike with Michele, Bob caused himself. After Michele told me about Bob and I replied, she sent a message that said, and I quote “i hope i finally meet a good guy like greg.” I am lucky to finally have someone like Greg in my life. All my friends and family love Greg and vice versa. Greg is amazing. And what makes this whole relationship the best I’ve ever had is that we were friends before we started dating, so we already knew each others interests and things. It’s amazing how something so small (being friends before dating vs. meeting with the intent to date) has that much of an impact on a relationship. Well, at least for me.

Anyway, I need to go to Target tomorrow during my lunch hour to get a house warming present for Cousin April. She and Clayton found a place to rent! So, they now have their own little home like Greg and me! I going to get them a crock-pot; I love my crock-pot and thought I would share the love. Speaking of crock-potting, my spagehtti and meatballs (cooked in the crock-pot) should be done, so I am going to head off for dinner.

They Know

Greg’s extended family now knows about Amelia and me. Greg finally spoke to his Grandparents in Alabama this evening. He told them a secret (that I’m not suppose to know but I think I’ve guessed it) and about Amelia – they are eagerly awaiting to photobook that we’re working on. I was able to get their address and tomorrow our Christmas cards are going out (at least the ones I’ve completed). Greg was also able to talk to his Dad tonight and they talked about the secret and about Greg telling his grandparents (Greg’s Dad’s parents).

So, I am sure the news about Greg, Amelia, and Me is spreading like wildfire throughout that side of the family.

Now, we have to plan a trip to Alabama and soon.

Black Friday Shopping

Yes, it was that much fun!

Amelia woke Greg and me at 6:30am!! The girl didn’t go to bed until 9:30 the night before; why was she up to early?!? But, by 7:15, we were up and out of bed, showered and getting ready for the day. We left a little after 8:15am and were at Best Buy before 8:30 (I am really enjoying the close proximity of all my favorite stores). I was able to get an amazing parking spot right in front of Best Buy and our shopping trip was smooth; Best Buy was very organized and Greg and I were impressed and Greg and I were in and out of the store in thirty minutes (we got all the items on our list, except for the DVD-R’s)!

Amazing Parking Spot:

After Best Buy, we headed over to Toys-R-Us to do a little shopping for Amelia. We bought the two items that we came to get:

And:

Toys-R-Us wasn’t as organized as Best Buy and it took us a little longer to find the two items. We were in line for 10 minutes before we reached the registers.

I didn’t take a picture of the line that was behind us (there were some grumpy people)!

After Toys-R-Us we headed to Golden Corral for breakfast, which was very good! The place was practically empty.

I gave Amelia some eggs and pancakes. She ate them, though not much. I believe she was still full from breakfast and her snack.

Amelia was asleep before we were out of the parking lot; lucky for her we only had a three minute car ride home (have i mentioned how much I love the close proximity of the stores?).

Greg and I were home by 10:30am. It was a fun trip and we’re not done. We are going to head back over to Target later in the day.

Yay! The Christmas Season has begun!

Change of Plans, Again

We didn’t go to the Science Center. Instead, we went to The Maryland Zoo! The weather was too nice to spend the day inside.

The zoo was practically empty and apparently the zoo is under some renovations so all the exhibits were not open. Greg and i were slightly disappointed in our visit (especially since we paid $30 and only had half the place open), but at the same time we were able to spend more time looking at what animals were out rather than be rushed because there are hundreds of other people wanting to look at the same animal. The most action Greg and I go to see was from two cheetahs which were a little grumpy and hungry, according to the caretaker, and were growling and roaring at each other. I never realized how loud their roars were, even though it wasn’t a full roar. It was neat nonetheless. By 4pm, all the animals were in their ‘rooms’, thus ending our trip. All the pictures from the zoo can be seen here.

After the zoo, we headed over to Costco’s for one item: Frenches Fried Onions as I was making the green bean casserole for Thanksgiving. They were sold out. D’oh!! Instead, we ended up buying three presents for family members and other household items.

Then, Greg and I went on a shopping spree at Target for all things Christmas Decorations! Oh, we had so much fun and spent $290!!! Of course, we bought other items such as diapers and wipes, the ingredients for the green bean casserole, some Pyrex dishes and many other items, but about 75% of the things bought were for our Christmas Tree, which as I write is up and decorated!! Which, you can find the pictures of our tree here.

Yes, we decorated early. The reason we did so is because we were able to do so without having to keep Amelia off of the tree. Though, we are curious as to how Amelia is going to react to the tree when she comes home tomorrow.

Anyway, it’s almost midnight and I’m pooped! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I have some cooking to do in the morning…

Happy Thanksgiving!!
